What I Learned from Hosting My First Book Launch Event 🎉

My first book launch was a blast! I read an excerpt, shared 4 book-writing tips, and gave away a free Companion Workbook. Missed it? Grab the workbook now—link in the post!

Dear Author,

This morning, I launched my seventh book, A Writer’s Guide to Craft Travel Stories.

Although it's my seventh book, this was my first-ever book launch event—and it went incredibly well!

When I first announced the launch, I worried that no one would show up. But when 16 people expressed interest in attending, I panicked and quickly put together a plan to make it a meaningful experience.

I’m thrilled to share that the event exceeded all my expectations. Some of my amazing superfans showed up to support me, including one dedicated reader who stayed up until 2:00 AM to join the Zoom call.

Sally, Carol, Johanna and Isha, thank you for showing up.

To all those aspiring authors, this is how you take the first step toward building a community around your writing: share your journey authentically, invite your readers into the process, and don’t be afraid to start small.

Even if you think no one will show up, put yourself out there—you might be surprised by the support waiting for you.

Every launch, every event, every connection is a step closer to establishing your presence as an author. Remember, it’s not about perfection; it’s about progress and creating meaningful experiences for your readers.

I recorded the event and shared it here for you to watch.

Take a look—there are plenty of valuable insights in the discussion.

If you couldn’t make it to the launch today but would like to support me, you can get ‘A Writer’s Guide to Craft Travel Stories’ from Amazon. Here is the link.

When you do that, please leave me a review. Review is the only way the other readers will discover the book.

Here is the link to the Companion Book, it’s a free download for next 24 hrs.
