When you join a writers’ group, the tradition is to introduce yourself and tell what you’re working on.

Please take a moment to share where you are from, the title of your publication, and the book you’re writing or aspire to write.

And if possible say hi to other community members.

What a journey! Great to see you overcome an obstacle. Such a great example for people who feel their dreams are shattered.

I am called to bring the best out of people, one of the avenues I do this through is Us.Lonely.Folk, here on Substack. I look at personal development and accountability for the purpose of achieving one's dreams.

Hi Neera, Great initiative! Having a community is so important, whether it’s for writing or life in general.

I’d like to start by introducing myself. I am Isha, originally from India, and I moved to the Netherlands more than two years ago. I work as a Technical Architect by profession but discovered my love for writing at the start of this year. I began by sharing my travel stories, which allowed me to relive those moments and gave me an outlet apart from my work.

Recently, I’ve also started writing about my life experiences. I'm using Substack as more of a journal to share my journey through life. I haven’t considered writing a book yet because I’m still in the process of finding my niche. However, I’m glad to be here on Substack, connecting with people like you, from whom I can learn a thing or two.

Welcome to Author Circle. Great to have you here. I visited Netherland last year where my niece moved incidentally two years ago as well. You are at the right place in Substack. Travel stories are a great start. When we are travelling, we are hyper observant and have a lot to talk about. Last year I wrote a memoir based on my visit to India. You don’t have to publish it as a book. But if you ever do, soon I will be sharing how to outline your travel memoir. Welcome again.

I have great admiration for your ‘can do’ attitude, forever out there to show that you are very capable of doing whatever you wish. I am wishing you every success with this project, and I can see by the comments so far it will be successful for you. Re-stacking!

I am so grateful for your consistent support, Sally. You have been the rock I have often leaned against when I thought, why I am doing all this when no one cares. But you're right, I am seeing the interest. The right people are being attracted. Hopefully we will help each other achieve our dreams.

Good morning Neera, the one thing I have always felt to be important when making the decision to follow anyone on Substack is to take the time to comment, it is so easy just to like, but why did they like? I was pleased to see that serious writers have connected with you on Writers Circle. Enjoy your Sunday 🤗

This is BRILLIANT Neera!

I love everything: the new name, the branding, the origin story, the clear focus, the strategy...

I will be featuring you as a reference for strategy as that's my focus this month ;)

Well done!

CHEERS to your spirit — and SO THERE to that silly boss who told you that you'd "never" rise beyond mid-level. Now look at you!

Thank you Jan. I lost touch with him. I so want to meet him and thank him. I truly feel that he was the inspiration behind it all. Sometimes criticism is a bigger inspiration than praise.

Hi Neera, this is Emily Newberry and I have two podcasts at emilypnewberry.substack.com. They are Named Sacred Gyre and Butterfly Arose. Together they are me being myself in terms of what I think and learn from books and articles, along with a way to hold myself accountable to do the right thing.

I started by writing poetry. My first book, Butterfly A Rose, was published back in 2010. From there I went to creating journals, one of which I used in an art and writing workshop for LGBTQ seniors, and wrote the poetry for the artists book Water by Shuju Wang. After a speaking engagement at my alma mater, Dickinson College, I wrote a memoir, Turning Inside Out, that was the inspiration for my two podcasts. At 80 years of age, I am writing and podcasting to go deeper into subjects that are important to me. I am in the middle of a group of podcast episodes on Butterfly Arose that I am thinking will become a book on sex, sexuality and gender identity in the future. I know I have a lot to learn from you and others in this group, and hope I can be a support to other writers as well.
