Hi Neera,

Thank you so much for writing this article and showcasing Obsidian. I've downloaded the free version of Obsidian about 3 weeks ago and yet haven't taken the time to learn how to use it.

I first heard about Roam Research from reading Tim Dennings post, but after a little research I found several other tools that seemed to fit my needs better.

Have you ever heard of Steve Dotto from Dottotech? He has been on you tube for several years and offers great reviews on several productivity tools.

Neera, as you know the human mind works differently in people, although our basic needs are the same. As far me, I retain my knowledge base by organizing in color or association. Organizing the old fashion way in colored folders has worked for me in lthe past, but with all digital tools available, the old filing system is now obsolete for me. Although, I prefer paper back books over digital sometimes. It's faster for me to pick up a paperback and flip to page? over logging in on my computer and connecting to kindle. However, I do use both systems.

I found Notion to be complicated for my needs. I know one can design Notion to fit your needs, but I like the mind map software much better, as it seems simpler.

I've realized the true value of being wholly organized if one wants to become a consistent writer. I like the suggestion of your mentioning having several projects in the pipeline going at once. I 'm going to try that while using Obsidian.

Steve Dotto talks about using Google voice to type and organize files. I haven't gotten set up yet with that system, but plan to. I think with the new technogy I will be able to find the notes even faster using voice. I will let you know what I've discovered. Have a wonderful productive day!

Kindly,

Carol...The Gray Van Camper Writer
