I love your story and writing. You provide me with glimpses of different cultures that are personal and poignant. I would never have the courage to move to a new country.

I love this concept and I loved reading about you (a total stranger). I did finish my PhD and am now looking to pivot into something else because of the hours and pay, so I guess you didn't miss out on too much after all!

I can’t help but wonder if the typewriter you used for your first resume will be a future “object” …

What an interesting start to your time in Australia. My first husband and I also lived in Ballarat, 1969-70 and from what you said about where you lived I don’t think we were too far away from one another. We lived in East Street South. The Befonia festival has been going for so long, and thankfully you don’t have to wait for it to visit the gardens and get a sneak peak.Like you I also enjoyed my time there. I laughed at your driving lesson, I wasn’t much different when I went for my licence, hitting a pole in a driveway during my test, but I got through anyway. Family connections lol… and don’t we all recall the lack of finances when first married, albeit during my entire time with my first husband it was never any different unless I earned the money. I shouldn’t complain because today it is a rememberance of him who died 12 months ago today. Anyway he found a fabulous 2nd wife whom I have a lot of love for. I smiled to myself when you said you were getting used to our Australian accent, these days it is me getting used to Indian accents. We have a lovely community here where I live. Until next week when your first bubba arrives 🤗
