#47: You Are Doing A Great Job!
This week was some week.
My brand new author website is up and running (I have been working on it for more than a month now).
I started running advertisements for my book How To Write and Publish an eBook in One Week on Amazon.
I received my second book, Eight Steps To Be An Authorpreneur, back from the editor and I revised it in a single sitting.
I am close to completing my third book, Dare To Be Creative, and sending it to the editor next week.
Still I feel like shit. No bloody sense of achievement.
You know why?
Becasue nobody to say you are doing a great job!
When you are struggling to establish a career, spending days and nights grappling new things, feeling scared to your bones whether it is ever going to work out or you will fall flat on your face, nobody puts an arm around your shoulder and say, “Don’t worry. It will all come around. YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB!”
So I created a banner for myself, to give myself a pat on the back.
Now I am giving it you.
If you are having a tough day… if you feel like a walking garbage bin dressed like a human being… if you feel frustrated because you only achieved 3 items out of your to-do list of 685 items long… then I want you to know…
YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB!
You made it to the gym.
YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB!
You mowed the lawn even thought it was cold and windy.
YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB!
You made it though the week without falling in a heap in the middle of it.
YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB!
Your heart was shattered but you found the courage to start all over again.
YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB!
You’re struggling with depression and it’s hard to do stuff (any stuff at all…) but you went online and scheduled an appointment with your therapist?
YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB!
It is be our catchphrase, like a secret password, reminding us to calm down, to breathe, to stop being so perfectionistic and relentlessly hard on ourselves, and to celebrate all the wins in life—especially the tiny wins that often go unnoticed and unacknowledged.
The world would be a happier, healthier, and more compassionate place if we remembered to say “You’re doing a great job” more often. To each other. And to ourselves.
YOU’RE DOING A GREAT JOB!
Really, you are.
That’s it from me this week.
I would love to hear from you. Please drop me a line in the comments section.
Take care.
