Thanks for being so generous and sharing what you've learned, Neera. I especially like the idea of inviting people to join in on the next step, and am going to try that in a few ways. It feels very warm and community-centered.
Wow, that's powerful! It echoes what I have been reading and learning as I consider pivoting from my "day job" (which is an evening teaching job) towards making money from writing. It's not just about writing a good book, or program, or course. It's about systems, as you said. I just read Michelle Kulp's "28 Books to $100K" and, honestly, it was a bit overwhelming. I'm glad I'm in your 90-Day Write Grow Monetize cohort so I can learn about these concepts step by step. Thank you!
You are welcome, Anna. I am pleased you read Michelle Kulp's book. When I read it first, time, about 4 years ago, I wrote a Medium article about it. Then I book a Zoom call with her. She immediately accepted my call because her sister showed her my article. We have been friends since then, commenting on each other's posts on LinkedIn and Facebook.
Hi, Neera, this newsletter is like a shot of caffeine. It woke me up, got my mind going, and your points hit the right nerves. I've learned so much already, I'm glad that I signed up for your course. I almost gave up Substack because I didn't see any potential use for it (let alone progress), but that's because I had never understood it in the first place. What I see now is the opportunity to earn my audience instead of leaving it to chance. Thank you for this opportunity and I'll be soaking up as much as your knowledge as I can!
You are most welcome. I am so glad my writing is resonating with you. Keep learning and keep asking me questions. It helps me write specifically to your needs.
That’s an amazing discovery, Neera and must have been gut wrenching as you did your research. Honestly, besides rooting you on, I don’t know , as a subscriber of your pub and program, how to think about it. I want to be seen and recognized for my writing but my energy to dive in the deep end is low.
I’ll stay with you and trust the process while cheering you on!
I love what you have written and in a way I have been trying to do both good writing about my childhood while at the same time figuring how to make it connect to paid subscribers eventually while trying to learn AI to make my headlines and such better but still keep my own writing voice in what I write. I am now developing a new outline to follow when I write my notes so that they will connect better and perhaps give me more subscriptions as well thank you so much for your heartfelt and smart observations. You are sharing with all of us the good thing is, I know you genuinely care and want to help people be better writers
Thanks for this well documented honesty...all I can say is that I also did this on a smaller scale, especially in my store. #me too
Excellent. It’s nothing new. Everyone goes through this stage once they feel less intimidated by their workload and begin to notice their mistakes.
Three possible actions in this order: save this post to check it out often, make appropriate changes and share with others.
Well stated truth despite hard to compile, Neera!
Thank you Gunnar.

Thanks Colleen. Yes, I wanted to share a change of direction with my writing. This post has served that purpose too.

I will help you with that. We will discuss how to do the research and analysis in one of the sessions.

Thanks, Laura. Hopefully, by the end of 90-Day program you will be much better positioned than now. Let's keep working toward it.
