Last November, on a warm summer morning (I live in the southern hemisphere) I came up with the idea of starting a newsletter on Substack. Like many of my other ideas, I acted on it straight away. I believe that each idea has an energy associated with it, which decreases with every passing day. Don’t act on the idea straight away the energy vanishes, and along with it, the idea.
Often, an idea just falls flat despite all my efforts, but other times it flourishes. Writing on Substack has been one of the best ideas that materialized in my writing career. My subscriber base is growing steadily, and more importantly, I am in touch with my readers through it.
I look forward to writing it every Friday. Sometimes I struggle with what to say, and it takes me hours to find something worth your time. But other times, words just flow out of my fingers. Today is one of such days. I have come back after a ten days break (I went to Melbourn to attend a good friend’s daughter’s wedding), and I can’t wait to get back to writing. So much so that I started another challenge - to write an article a day on Medium for one month ( which is silly because December is a month full of social events). But I want to send off 2021 with a bang. It turned out to be a more challenging year than 2020.
Speaking of challenges, here is one for you - how about learning a new skill before the year is over. All you need is just one hour a day. Josh Kaufman, the author of The First 20 Hours: How to Learn Anything Fast, states that it takes you just 20 hours of deliberate practice to learn a new skill. So if you decide to allocate just an hour a day, you will have a new skill under your belt before Christmas.

My trip to Melbourne has delayed the launch of Eight Steps To Be An Authorpreneur. I am planning to launch it on Wednesday, the 10th of December.
All those who have registered to review that book will receive their free copy on Monday the 6th of December.
In the meantime, my cover design team came up with a slight alteration on the cover. We now have eight steps in line with the title of the book.
Take care.

Welcome back to writing Neera. I can only imagine how challenging the book-writing experience has been. But sometimes we have to take a break to focus on one thing to ensure we do it right. I will be the first to buy your book on Amazon. I didn't want to make the commitment to reading it in 2 days for the free copy. It was deliberate and I got a promotion at my job in NYC and it's taxing on my time.
